Sweet
Success for Prenzel
Lemon Zest at World
Competition....
Only four months
after its release,
our new Limoncello
'Lemon Zest'
has been awarded
Gold at the 2009-2010
World Beverage Competition
in Florida. The
finest beverage
products from iced
teas to vodkas were
tested by an international
panel of industry
professionals. Packaging
and brand names
are kept secret
from judges and
double blind tastings
prove to be an effective
way to provide honest
opinions.
New to our range
in October 2009,
Lemon
Zest is light
smooth and refreshing.
Prenzel Distiller,
22 year old Hayden
Johnstone says hes
pleased with
the result.
He developed a traditional
Italian recipe but
adjusted it specifically
to the New Zealand
palate. To win Gold
in the USA would
indicate that
its appeal is not
just limited to
Kiwi tastes.
Company owner Hugh
Steadman says hes
absolutely delighted
with the outcome,
Limoncello
is a relatively
new category in
New Zealand and
is fast becoming
the flavour of the
year. New Zealand
lemons are particularly
flavoursome when
compared to those
grown in other countries
so I am not
surprised we can
win medals for this
product overseas.
We invite you to
come and tasting
this refreshing
liqueur in store
See you soon!

Prenzel celebrates
20th year with the
release of Bowle
As
The Prenzel Distilling
Company turns 20,
the traditional
methods of producing
quality flavours
continue to be entwined
with a taste of
Kiwi excellence.
Bowle
(pronounced Bowl-a
and so called as
it is typically
served in a large
glass bowl)
is the latest delight
to roll out of the
doors of the Marlborough
distillery. Traditional
recipes from Germany
and the Alsace region
of France use fruit
sprinkled with sugar,
then soaked in brandy
as a base.
Prenzel
Distilling have
developed a spirit
especially for this
purpose. White wine
is later added and
chilled, then before
serving, champagne
is also stirred
into the mix. (For
a lighter version,
lemonade/soda can
be used.)
