We hope you enjoyed the last days of Autumn, although the rain in these quantities is not altogether good.

Now is the time to enjoy delicious winter comfort foods that are designed to keep us warm, cozy and healthy.

Sarah and I have enjoyed creating our recipe this month and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we have.

In our Moroccan Chicken recipe we feature Prenzel Lemon Rice Bran Oil and Inch Valley Pickled Lemons – now available in store.

This recipe has become a favourite in our family and we’ll be making it often this winter because it is easy, nutritious and a true example of what we call 'Comfort Food'.

Mid winter festival nights - celebrate winter solstice with us Fridays - June 18 and 25

We will soon be experiencing mid winter solstice. For many centuries people have been celebrating the festival of the 'new sun' at the winter equinox. This is the time when the sun’s path stops and heads again towards summer (the shortest day of the year is June 21).

It’s great to carry on old traditions and so YOU are invited to our Mid Winter Festival Nights at the Prenzel Shop Botany - Friday 18 June and Friday 25 June for 6pm until 8.30pm.

Mark these dates on your calendar and come along to share some winter nibbles with us at the Botany Tasting Room.

We are offering DOUBLE POINTS FOR YOUR PURCHASES ON THE NIGHT and we’ll serve you Hot Mulled Wine and tasty nibbles made with our liqueurs and infused oils for your enjoyment.

Come along for a bit of fun and collect a new recipe, or better still, taste it on the night.

 


Mulled WineMulled Wine season is back!

You can always find winter comfort at The Prenzel Shop where you can taste our fabulous Mulled Wine!

Also known as Glühwein (pronounced Glue-vine) in some parts of the world, did you know that mulled wine was made way back as far as medieval times when it was said to 'ward off the evils of winter'?
Glühwein is popular in German-speaking countries and the region of Alsace in France. It is the traditional beverage served on 'Christmas Market Days'.
It is usually prepared from red wine which is heated and spiced with cinnamon sticks, vanilla pods, cloves, citrus and sugar.
Prenzel have taken all of that hard work away and given us Premium Mulled Wine concentrate.

Prenzel Mulled Wine in 3 easy steps:

  1. Put the kettle on
  2. Pour a 1/4 measure into you glass (make sure the glass can take the very hot water - if you don’t have any sturdy glasses come and see us - we do!) or jug etc
  3. Add hot water to the wine in your glass (or jug) - and Whallah! Delicious hot mulled wine just like they made it centuries ago – without the fuss and palaver
