How the Love Affair Began...
On a visit to Prenzel Kapiti in early 2004 Sarah
& Brett Dodson fell in love with the taste
and quality of Prenzel products... an excited
phone call to mum Mavis in Howick and the dream
of Prenzel of Whitford was born. Less than
eight months later Mavis & Sarah opened Prenzel
of Whitford in October 2004.
In 2007, Mavis and Sarah's
Prenzel of Whitford store was voted as a finalist
in the Excellence in Tourism category at
the Manukau Business Excellence Awards, and the
store was judged Top Shop Winner in the
Food and Beverage Category at the Retail Excellence
Awards.
The entrepreneurial mother-daughter
team are now building on their success with a
brand-new store at Botany
Town Centre, which opened in September 2008.
Along with the established range, Prenzel Botany
will showcase the best of New Zealand-made artisan
products from around the country, lovingly crafted
in small kitchens by people passionate and knowledgeable
about food.
Foodies are sated by Prenzel's
wide range of infused
oils (both rice bran and olive) and salts,
vinaigrettes,
wine
vinegar's and dessert
toppings. Mavis and Sarah say their products,
designed for the Kiwi palate, revolutionise the
way their customers cook, entertain and enjoy
their food. The liqueurs and culinary products
are complemented by a range of beautiful glassware,
accessories and homeware.
The diverse range of award-winning liqueurs includes
hand-crafted Limited
Edition Liqueurs, Premium
Liqueurs, Cream
Liqueurs and Classic
Schnapps, and top-shelf
spirits such as pure Fruit
Brandies (eau-de-vie) that are distilled from
the most perfect fruit.
Prenzel Blenheim
Bay Gin is a consistent international award-winner,
and is rated among the top gins in the world.
In 2007 Prenzel released Southern
Star Vodka. Made to the same exacting standard
as all Prenzel spirits, it is already topping
blind tasting reviews and winning awards internationally.
Recipes featuring Prenzel products are now available
at both stores, and are given away free with the
corresponding product when purchased. We also
have an ever-increasing range of recipes
as well as cocktail
and drink mixes on our website.
