Hello Everyone
Who is winding up the world? - That's what I would like to know!
Likewise, many folk we talk to (and you know we can talk) all agree
that time seems to be racing by. This is only our second newsletter
this year, we are half way through the year and so much has happened
already.
The summer and autumn weather was just the very best we have had
for years and that gave us plenty of opportunity for barbeques and
family gatherings. I know on very good authority, that lots of Prenzel
products were consumed and enjoyed by a good many of you and that's
just great - needless to say we're pleased to hear it.
Like the summer weather our Prenzel Distilling Company got off
to a hot start by gaining more international awards. It's easier
to let you see the Press releases as issued by our Head Office -
I hope you enjoy the read.
Press Releases
New Zealand Vodkas Amongst Best In World
Prenzel
Distilling Company's Southern Star Vodka beat two New Zealand
Vodkas 42 Below and 26,000 to win silver at the San Francisco
Spirit Awards 2008. The San Francisco Spirit Awards are the
most prestigious spirits awards in the United States.
Prenzel used its years of experience in traditional distilling combined
with new thinking to develop Southern Star Vodka. The Vodka's exceptional
taste and smoothness is due to Prenzel's complex continuous multi-filtering
process and the natural, high quality barley grain spirit, says
Master Distiller Hayden Johnstone.
" Winning a prestigious award reflects the high quality of
distillation processes that we use for all our products. We are
very excited to start 2008 with this success on top of the 13 international
accolades we won in 2007", says Marketing Manager Olivia Bowers.
Southern Star Vodka was released to significant local acclaim in
December 2007.
Five more awards seals Prenzel's place at the top
Prenzel
Distilling Company won five international awards in one week! Two
of which were for its Blenheim Bay Gin. The Gin added to
its array of awards with gold at Le Monde and two stars (silver)
at the Superior Taste Awards, both are in Belgium.
"Blenheim Bay Gin was developed over a long period which included
extensive testing against world leading premium gins. We believe
our secret to success has been our choice and balance of botanicals."
Prenzel received three other awards at the Superior Taste Awards.
Two stars (Silver Medal) for both their Lemon Infused Flaky Salt
and Southern Star Vodka, and one star (Bronze Medal) for
their Citrus Rice Bran Oil Vinaigrette.
"These awards show just how versatile we are, not only are
we a world class distillery but an infusery as well."
Prenzel was one of only two New Zealand companies to win at this
year's awards, and the only distillery. When there are so many other
quality products made in New Zealand it is enormously gratifying
to be seen as the best and were very proud of that.
The International Taste and Quality Institute, iTQi, Brussels,
is the world leading independent chef - and sommelier - based organisation
dedicated to judging, honouring, and promoting superior tasting

For its juries, iTQi works in close partnership with the 10 most
prestigious culinary institutions and the Association de la Sommellerie
Internationale (ASI) in Europe.
Le Monde Selection is an annual competition which sees on average
1500 products from over 70 countries. It has used the same experienced
and specialised panel of jury for over a decade.

Sadly for us, we said cheerio (but never goodbye) to our lovely
