Here we are again and Christmas is looming!
It has been a year of challenge and uncertainty to say the least, but there is nothing more constant than change and the only way is up. As the year draws to a close we can all look forward to a lovely Christmas and a holiday - time to relax and recoup – we hope you will enjoy both and lace them with lots of Prenzel.

Exciting New products from Prenzel Distillery
The Prenzel distillery has an exciting list of new products in the pipe line and this month we are pleased to present four of these.

  1. Oak Aged Apricot Brandy Liqueur
    First, we see the return of a favourite Limited Edition Oak Aged Apricot Brandy Liqueur. No two creations are the same. As usual the liqueurs are hand crafted and this one is no exception. Fresh apricots were used and the fruit was sliced, stoned and macerated by hand before being combined with the apricot fruit brandy waiting in the oak barrels. The result is a full bodied liqueur bursting with the fresh fruit flavour of Central Otago Apricots – Now that’s worth a taste.
  2. Introducing White Velvet – Macadamia & Hazelnut Liqueur
    Its appearance reflects the creamy kernels of Macadamia nuts, rather than the translucent tea colour of other hazelnut-derived liqueurs you may know of. Beneath the Macadamia and Hazelnut flavours is a subtle hint of a natural Vanilla. Not only is White Velvet delicious to drink – but it will be fabulous in many desserts and cakes.
  3. White Sambuca and Black Sambuca
    Some of you will remember our Ltd Edition release called Black Licorice. We can tell that it was sorely missed by many when it all sold out. But now there is a new range of Prenzel Sambuca – this time at 40% Alc. One delicious way to drink Sambuca is with Butterscotch Cream Liqueur floating on it (delicious) also, Black Sambuca should be able to be flamed and this one can be.
    White Sambuca (Sambuca is the Latin name for the elderflower bush) is a traditional Italian aniseed-based liqueur is usually enjoyed as a digestif. Often it is drunk alongside a cup of coffee with roast coffee beans floating in it. In keeping with the Prenzel standard no artificial colour has been used to create the Black look”, instead Prenzel’s new Black Sambuca is coloured with an extract of grape skins.

Seasonal Salad Greens
Lettuce has been cultivated for more than 2,500 years, It aids digestion, promotes liver health and can also reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke. However, if iceberg is the only type of lettuce you eat, you are choosing the least-nutritious in a family of nutritional champions.
Generally, the darker green the leaves, the more nutritious the salad green. For example, romaine (Cos) and watercress have heaps more health benefits than iceberg. All in all, lettuce has low calorie content, high water volume, gives us excellent dietary fibre plus vitamins and minerals. By varying the greens in your salads, you can enhance the nutritional content as well as vary the tastes and textures.
Prepare your salad just prior to serving. Tearing and chopping lettuce releases ripening enzymes that sap the nutrients. This strips away 94 percent of their cancer-fighting flavonoids.
