Replace Butter for Oil in cooking and baking

How do I substitute butter for oil?
The butter: oil substitution ratio is: 200g butter = 1 cup oil.
Using this calculation you can adjust your recipes and use oil instead of butter in many recipes. I.E. 100g butter is equal to 1/2 cup oil and so on.

Why should I use oil instead of butter?
Rice Bran Oil is much healthier than butter - it is free of trans fatty acids, and it has the added bonus of being in liquid form! This means no more melting or softening butter - simply mix oil in with other wet ingredients as you would melted butter.

Research findings reported at a symposium sponsored by the American Heart Association, indicate that Rice Bran Oil has the unique ability to lower harmful LDL cholesterol levels up to 30% without reducing HDL or "good" cholesterol that protects against heart attacks, and that "people would need to consume less than two tablespoons of the oil a day to get the benefits."

Rice Bran Oil is great to use in cakes, loaves, muffins - it gives a lighter texture than butter. If making biscuits it's probably best to stick with butter though - you'll need it to give your bikkies some crunch.

Does Rice Bran Oil change the flavour of food?
Rice Bran Oil is ideal for cooking, frying, baking and salads. It has low flavour transference which makes it excellent for cooking without changing the taste of your recipe. Try the Prenzel range of Rice Bran Oils to add wonderful flavours into your food. Our range includes: Garlic, Lemon, Lime, Rosemary, Chilli and Tuscan (a blend of garlic, oregano, basil and capsicum). Rice Bran Oil does not have a strong flavour of its own, allowing the infusion flavours to dominate the oil. Also in our range is Butter Infused Sunflower Oil.

These oils have a long storage life and contain no additives or preservatives which make them a great addition to your store cupboard.

Lemon Infused Rice Bran Oil is wonderful instead of butter in lemon muffins, lemon loaves etc. In savoury baking try Prenzel Garlic, Tuscan, Chilli, Rosemary Infused Rice Bran Oils.

Garlic Infused Rice Bran Oil is a fabulous substitute for garlic and butter in garlic breads.

Tuscan Infused Rice Bran Oil is a wonderful addition to Italian inspired breads such as foccacia, and pizza dough.

What if I like the taste of butter?
Butter Infused Sunflower Oil
is wonderful in baking such as cakes, muffins and loaves. Try it also in a frypan when making scrambled eggs, pancakes and pikelets. Also instead of sauteing vegetables such as mushrooms, cabbage etc in butter, try Butter Infused Sunflower Oil instead.
